ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A tricycle driver was arrested after police recovered an unlicensed firearm and sachets of suspected shabu on Saturday night, Sept. 13, in Sitio Cassandra, Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City.
The suspect was identified as Arturo Balbona y Buhat, 43, a resident of Bayot Drive, Barangay 9.
Police said Balbona attempted to flee when he noticed officers conducting a roving patrol in the area.
Recovered from him were a .45-caliber pistol with a magazine and three live rounds, five sachets of suspected shabu, and a holster.
The suspect is now under the custody of Roxas City Police, and charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) were filed Monday morning before the City Prosecutor’s Office.
