ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Police on Monday filed illegal drug pushing charges against a criminology student who was arrested Saturday evening in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Banica here.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) were filed before the City Prosecutor’s Office against Renante Demesa, 22, of Barangay Salgan, Maayon, Capiz.
The Capiz Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PPDEU) conducted the operation that nabbed Demesa in the act of selling suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer in the amount of P6,400.
Also recovered from the suspect were 6 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 5 grams and estimated street value at P34,000; a coin purse, a cellphone, and a Suzuki Raider 150 motorcycle.
Police claimed that Demesa was on the Anti-illegal Drugs Watch list and a “High-Value Individual.”
