To enhance its logistical capability, the Iloilo City Police Office has received a fully equipped Special Weapons and Tactics van as part of its emergency response assets.
The ICPO said the SWAT armored vehicle was donated by the Iloilo City Government and Chui Rhett Cembrano of Golden Delta.
The vehicle was formally turned over to the ICPO on April 15 at Iloilo City Hall, Plaza Libertad.
Colonel Kim Legada, Iloilo City police chief, said the donation reflects the continued trust and support of both the public and private sectors in law enforcement.
Legada said the fully equipped SWAT vehicle is designed for high-risk police operations and critical response missions.
“It is expected to play a vital role in maintaining peace and order in Iloilo City, which is a highly urbanized area with evolving public safety demands,” he said.
Legada added that the vehicle will boost the operational readiness and effectiveness of the ICPO SWAT team.
The ICPO also noted that in recent months, the Iloilo City Government has turned over patrol vehicles, firearms and handheld radio batteries to further improve police mobility and emergency response.
Legada said sustained support from the city government and other stakeholders continues to empower the ICPO in law enforcement and strengthens efforts to build a safer and more secure Iloilo City.
