The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) secured a second consecutive recognition as the country’s best city police office.
The award was conferred on Thursday, Jan. 29, during the first Philippine National Police Day celebration.
Col. Wilbert Parilla, ICPO officer in charge, received the honor in a ceremony at the Philippine National Police national headquarters at Camp Gen. Rafael Crame in Quezon City.
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto served as guest of honor and keynote speaker at the event.
He was joined by Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor “Junvic” Remulla Jr. and PNP Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
In a statement, the ICPO said the recognition underscored the leadership of former ICPO director Col. Kim Legada and Parilla, as well as the collective commitment of ICPO personnel to public service, law enforcement and community partnership.
The ICPO bested other city police offices nationwide to clinch the top distinction in the Best City Police Office category.
Parilla, who assumed the ICPO’s top post on Jan. 13, credited Legada, ICPO personnel, the Iloilo City government and the local community for their support and cooperation.
“Congratulations to each and every Ilonggo. Excellence is always at the center of our service. This recognition is a testament to the hard work, professionalism and dedication of every member of ICPO, as well as the strong partnership we share with our local government and stakeholders,” Parilla said.
He assured the public that the ICPO would continue to serve with honor and dedication to ensure the safety and security of Iloilo City.
The ICPO was also named best city police office on Aug. 12, 2025, during the 124th Police Service Anniversary.
