Despite some apparent hitches, Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr. was able to buoy the Iloilo City Police Office-City Intelligence Unit (ICPO-CIU) into topping the Police Regional Office (PRO) 6’s Unit Performance Evaluation for November 2023.
The ICPO-CIU is currently headed by Benitez, who is also the concurrent chief of the ICPO City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).
In a press statement, the ICPO said that the CIU bested eight other police offices/units in Western Visayas in the Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER) for November 2023 with 154.15 combined points or equivalent to 93.42 percent.
The rating is based on accumulated points on seven different parameters: Intelligence Operations Section (IOS), Counter-Intelligence and Security Section CISS), Intelligence Research Section (IRS), Foreign Liason Section (FRS), Philippine Bomb Data Section, Administrative and Personnel Management Section (APMS), and No. of Special Requirements, Request acted/complied with RID.
On the other hand, Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) ranked second with 92.69 percent; Iloilo Province (IPPO) with 92.67 percent; and Antique (AntPPO) with 90.10 percent.
The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 rates the police offices every month based on mentioned various parameters.
Colonel Joeresty Coronica, Iloilo City police chief, hailed intelligence operatives and personnel for their dedication to duty that made them achieve such recognition.
The ICPO intelligence community is doing well and has made several accomplishments that contributed to a peaceful, orderly, safe and secured Iloilo City, Coronica added.
“This signifies the effort and commitment of our personnel as much as the active support, trust and confidence of the people in their police. The information they give is significant in every accomplishment. Let us continue to do good for our people, congratulations and keep up the good work,” he said.
Coroconica assured the public that ICPO will continue to pursue excellence and its personnel on the ground will continue in reaching out to the community to establish peace and order and to gain strong community support.
