ICPO drug haul tops PHP 100 million in eight months

ILOILO CITY — The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) breached the PHP 100 million mark in the value of illegal drugs confiscated during the first eight months of 2026.

Records showed that ICPO conducted 487 anti-illegal drug operations from Jan. 1 to Aug. 31, 2026.

The operations resulted in the confiscation of 15.062 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 102,423,148.

Police also seized 98.5164 grams of marijuana valued at PHP 11,821.

Shabu is the commonly used Philippine term for methamphetamine hydrochloride.

The series of anti-narcotics operations resulted in the arrest of 593 drug personalities.

Of the 593 arrested, 162 were classified as high-value individuals (HVIs), 413 as street-level individuals (SLIs), 11 were arrested by virtue of warrants, and seven were classified as unlisted individuals.

The ICPO City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) recorded the highest volume of confiscated suspected shabu at 7.902 kilograms, valued at PHP 53,738,201.

It also logged the highest number of arrests, with 102 drug personalities apprehended.

Meanwhile, Iloilo City Police Station 2 ranked second after confiscating 2.631 kilograms of suspected shabu worth PHP 17,896,692.20 and arresting 73 individuals.

Iloilo City Police Station 4 ranked third, recovering 1.573 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at PHP 10,702,646 and accounting for 58 arrests.

Police Col. Wilbert Parilla, Iloilo City police chief, lauded ICPO personnel for their unwavering dedication and sustained efforts in the fight against illegal drugs.

He also cited the community for its continued cooperation and support.

“Our campaign remains relentless. There are no limitations — whether during holidays or ordinary days, our fight continues,” he added.

Parilla vowed that ICPO would remain aggressive, intensify its operations, and continue to deliver strong results against individuals involved in illegal drug activities.
