Forty wanted persons were arrested in Iloilo City as the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) intensified its campaign against fugitives in August.
The arrests were made during manhunt operations conducted from August 1 to 31, 2025.
ICPO records showed that nine of those arrested were classified as most wanted persons (MWPs), while 31 were listed as other wanted persons (OWPs).
Among the MWPs, five individuals were included in the region’s list of top fugitives, ranked Top 1, Top 3, Top 6, Top 7, and Top 9.
They were wanted for serious crimes including murder, rape, and illegal possession of firearms.
The Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC) recorded the most arrests with 10.
Police Stations 3 and 6 each made five arrests, while Station 2 arrested four wanted persons.
Stations 1, 7, and 8 each accounted for three arrests; Stations 4, 5, and 10 made two arrests each; and Station 9 recorded one.
Col. Kim Legada, ICPO director, praised the operating units for their dedication and efficiency in carrying out their duties.
“Their arrests are a manifestation of hope and justice for every victim and their families,” Legada said.
“Rest assured, ICPO will not let up until these fugitives are put behind bars.”
“ICPO remains firmly committed to justice, public safety, and the delivery of quality police service to the community,” he added.
