Husband Stabs Wife, Then Takes Own Life

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A woman remained in critical condition after being stabbed by her husband, who later took his own life, early Wednesday morning, January 1, 2025, in Barangay Mianay, Sigma, Capiz.
Police reported that the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. during a heated argument between Lorna Donasco, 50, and her husband, Eduardo Donasco, 60, inside their room.
According to their son, Arnold Donasco, he forcibly opened the door after hearing the commotion and witnessed his father stabbing his mother multiple times with a 12-inch knife.
Arnold managed to pacify his parents and sought help from neighbors to rush his mother to the hospital.
He then went to the Sigma Municipal Police Station to report the incident. Upon returning home with authorities, they found Eduardo bleeding with a knife embedded in his stomach, which he had reportedly used to stab himself.
Eduardo was taken to the Mambusao District Hospital in Mambusao town but succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
Police are investigating the incident.
