ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 37-year-old man allegedly committed suicide after a fight with his wife.
Cardo (not his real name) of Barangay Mainit, Cuartero, Capiz was found hanging from their kitchen ceiling Tuesday.
Police investigation indicated that the husband went home drunk on Monday evening. He was hungry and requested his wife to bring him food but it was their 7-year-old child who heeded him.
The husband got angry. He stood up and picked a plastic chair which he threw at his wife, who hurt her eyes.
When the husband became sober, he asked forgiveness from his wife but the latter ignored him.
On Tuesday, the husband again approached his wife to settle their fight but the latter still ignored him. That was the last time he was seen alive.
The wife said she saw her husband hug their child before he died. The husband left a suicide note, the content of which was kept confidential.
