House, furniture shop destroyed in Roxas fire

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A house that also served as a furniture shop was destroyed in a fire late Monday afternoon, April 6, at Sitio Crossing in Barangay Cagay, Roxas City.
SFO1 Junemar Galve, spokesperson for the Bureau of Fire Protection in Roxas City, said a barangay official called for assistance.
Galve identified the owner as Maximino Bracamonte, a resident of the area and of legal age.
Initial information from the Bureau of Fire Protection in Roxas City showed that the structure was made of light materials and housed furniture items for display.
A resident said the fire started in one room and spread quickly.
Arson investigators placed the estimated damage at PHP 14,000.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire.
