DoubleDragon Corp. has completed the facade of its 482-room Hotel101-Niseko development in Hokkaido, Japan, as the company works toward opening the property in December 2026.
Interior fit-out work is in full swing, DoubleDragon said in its July 10 disclosure.
Photos on page 3 of the disclosure show the dark exterior installed across the multiwing building.
The images also show construction equipment, temporary coverings, and unfinished ground-level areas around the property.
DoubleDragon said Hotel101-Niseko would become the largest hotel in Kutchan, in Hokkaido’s Niseko area.
The company described the development as the first hotel in Japan to be built and operated by a homegrown Filipino hotel chain.
Hotel101-Niseko is expected to begin generating JPY-denominated recurring revenue when it opens in December.
The addition would follow the 680-room Hotel101-Madrid, which began generating EUR-denominated recurring revenue after opening in March 2026.
Hotel101-Niseko will have two indoor swimming pools.
The property will also feature a hot mineral bath and a sauna.
Other planned facilities include a business center with meeting rooms.
The hotel will have HBNB all-day dining with private rooms and an HBNB Grab & Go outlet.
The property will also include a children’s playground, fitness gym, ski rental shop, and ski locker facility.
Niseko is internationally known for “Japow,” a term used for Japan’s light, dry powder snow.
The resort area also offers views of illuminated ski slopes and Mount Yotei.
During summer, Niseko attracts visitors for whitewater rafting on the Shiribetsu River.
Other warm-season activities include hiking, mountain biking, long ziplines, golf, and onsen bathing.
The area is also known for Hokkaido cuisine and hot-spring resorts.
DoubleDragon said new direct air services connecting Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport with Vancouver and San Francisco could improve access to Niseko for North American travelers.
The company said the routes would remove the need for lengthy connections through Tokyo.
The disclosure also cited direct Manila–Sapporo services by Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines as additional travel options for Filipinos.
Hotel101 forms part of DoubleDragon’s strategy to combine its Philippine portfolio of physical assets with an asset-light hospitality business that can be licensed internationally.
Hotel101 Global is targeting 1 million standardized rooms in 100 countries.
The company plans to pursue the goal mainly through licensing its HBNB model to generate long-term recurring revenue.
In the Philippines, the group operates the 518-room Hotel101-Manila.
It also operates the 606-room Hotel101-Fort.
DoubleDragon said both Philippine properties continue to record high occupancy levels.
Hotel101-Madrid became the brand’s first operating property outside the Philippines when it opened in March 2026.
The Madrid hotel reached 100% occupancy during a record single day.
DoubleDragon said the property generated more than EUR 100,000 in revenue during that day.
The company said the performance demonstrated strong demand and the property’s potential to produce substantial recurring revenue.
DoubleDragon said the result also supported its asset-light, prop-tech hospitality model.
The company expects 2026 to produce its highest number of hotel-room openings in a single year.
A total of 2,229 additional rooms are scheduled to become operational during the year.
That total comprises 680 rooms in Madrid, Spain.
It also includes 519 rooms in Davao and 548 rooms in Cebu.
The remaining 482 rooms are in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan.
DoubleDragon expects to begin generating a high volume of recurring revenue in 2026 from provincial community-mall leasing.
The company also expects recurring revenue from industrial-warehouse leasing and office leasing.
Its hospitality portfolio in the Philippines and overseas is expected to contribute additional recurring revenue.
DoubleDragon said Hotel101’s international growth could eventually make the business a major generator of USD-denominated inflows for the Philippine economy.
Hotel101 made history in 2025 when a subsidiary became the first Filipino company listed on the U.S. Nasdaq, according to the disclosure.
The company said Hotel101’s overseas operations in 2026 marked another milestone as the first Filipino hotel-chain brand to operate internationally.
DoubleDragon reported total assets of PHP 225.3 billion.
The company said it would continue investing the work, entrepreneurial grit, and perseverance needed to establish Hotel101 in multiple jurisdictions.
DoubleDragon said its long-term goal is to build Hotel101 into a global Filipino hospitality brand.
