Homicide suspect arrested in Tapaz warrant operation

TAPAZ, Capiz — Police arrested a 55-year-old farmer wanted on a homicide charge Monday afternoon, July 27, in Barangay Roxas, Tapaz.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Ryzen.
The suspect was temporarily residing in Sitio Arisgal, Barangay Cristina, Tapaz, but was a permanent resident of Barangay Santo Niño, Dumalag, police said.
Members of the Tapaz Municipal Police Station arrested Ryzen at about 5:10 p.m.
Maj. Gregg Anthony Salbang, Tapaz police chief, led the operation.
Police served a warrant issued July 27, 2026, by Judge Rommel Lacson Leonor of Regional Trial Court Branch 21 in Mambusao, Capiz.
The court set bail at PHP 60,000 for the suspect’s temporary release.
Ryzen remained in the custody of the Tapaz Municipal Police Station pending his turnover to the issuing court.
Homicide is punishable under Article 249 of the Revised Penal Code.
