ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 71-year-old man tragically died after falling from his motorcycle on Saturday afternoon at Arnaldo Boulevard.
Known locally as “Tony” from Barangay Mongpong, he was quickly transported to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The Roxas City PNP station reported that the victim was traveling home through Barangay Mongpong on a Honda Beat motorcycle when the incident occurred around 1 pm, leading to speculation that heat stroke caused his fall.
The doctor attending to Tony informed his family that he suffered a heart attack triggered by heat stroke.
Records from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) indicate that at the time, Roxas City experienced a heat index of 39 percent.
The victim’s motorcycle is now at the police station awaiting proper disposition.
