A habal-habal (passenger motorcycle) driver was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation late evening of Nov 7, 2020 in Estancia, Iloilo.
The operation against Andre Gallardo, 29, of Poblacion Zone 2, Estancia town, was conducted following information that he allegedly sold illegal drugs.
Lieutenant Francis Depasucat, Estancia police deputy chief, said Gallardo was on the watchlist of illegal drug personalities.
He was arrested 10:40 pm Saturday after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a police undercover agent.
Recovered from Gallardo’s possession were four sachets of suspected shabu, a plastic sachet of dried marijuana leaves, and the P500 marked money.
Aside from illegal drugs, several village officials have allegedly accused Gallardo of other misdemeanors, particularly for causing trouble in their barangay.
“May grupo ni guro sya nga mahilig manggamo. Gina ugtasan man sya da sa ila barangay,” Depasucat said.
Gallardo is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
