BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental governor Eugenio Jose Lacson urged the complainant in a reported sexual harassment case against a capitol official to come out.
“If there is a complainant, she should come out and file a formal complaint,” Lacson said.
He said the Provincial Legal Office cannot act on it because there is no complaint nor is there a complainant.
If there is no complainant, this will just remain a rumor. Where is the complainant? Until now there is none,” Lacson said.
He added that in case there is a complainant, if there really is one, he or she can directly go to him to complain.
“My office is open, she can go directly to me if there really is one. We cannot just invent any sexual harassment story here,” he added.
Lacson expressed concern about the alleged sexual harassment “story” circulating at the capitol. The incident allegedly happened during the Panaad sa Negros Festival in April 2023.
The governor stressed that his administration does not tolerate misdeeds of provincial government employees in the rank and file and in the executive level.
Especially if it is a sexual harassment case, he said.
