Guv tells press club officers ‘make a difference’

BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson encouraged the newly-elected officers of the Negros Press Club (NPC) to make a difference.

The NPC officers, led by President Erwin Ambo Delilan, took their oath of office during a courtesy call with Lacson at his office in the provincial capitol building this past Friday.

Their term officially starts on Friday, March 1, 2024.

“Your term is only good for one year. Give it your best; make a difference,” the governor advised.

Joining Delilan were Nida Buenafe as Vice President, Lourd John Diaz as Secretary, Nanette Guadalquiver as Treasurer, Nona Dema-ala as Auditor, and the board members Mae Siguay, Yves Montecillo, Rey Siason, and Dolly Yasa.

Delilan announced that the formal induction of officers is scheduled to be held at the Radisson Park Inn in this city on April 6, 2024.

He noted that the NPC, now in its 88th year, is the oldest press club in the country and comprises about 200 members from the mainstream media, including print, broadcast, television, and online news outlets.

Earlier this week, the NPC officers paid a courtesy visit to Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez, who pledged to support the club’s projects and programs for its members.
