ROXAS CITY, Capiz— Capiz Governor Esteban Evan Contreras said he is satisfied with the performance of Atty. Emilyn Depon as head of the Capiz Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (CAPENRO).
This was Contreras’ reaction to the call of Sangguniang Panlalawigan members for Depon to resign for loss of trust and confidence.
He said that he was contented with Depon’s performance as a passionate and dedicated CaPENRO chief.
“There’s no reason why she should be terminated as she is performing her job well,” the governor said as he appealed to critics to set aside politics and instead help and cooperate with each other during the pandemic.
Since he assumed as governor of the province, Contreras said several department heads were against Depon, but he still retained them in their positions as he saw that they were performing their obligations.
“The most important thing here is they performed their job assigned to them in order to help my administration,” the governor said.
Board member Mateo Hachuela led the call for Depon to quit as CaPENRO chief because of alleged incompetence.
