BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and three other officers of the Department of Interior and Local Government in the province tested negative for the coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.
Lacson earlier placed himself on isolation after being exposed to a DILG officer from Iloilo who tested positive of the virus. The officer was here last week for the Anti-Drug Summit.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said the swab test result on the governor taken Tuesday was released Wednesday evening.
Aside from the governor, three other officials who were sitting beside him during the activity also tested negative.
A report from Aksyon Radyo indicated that the three officials are DILG Negros Occidental OIC Roselyn Quintana, Assistant Regional Maria Calpiza Sardua, and Liga Barangay President and Provincial Board Member Juvy Pepello.
