Firearms and an explosive were confiscated during a police raid early morning on March 5 in Barangay Cabungahan, Maayon, Capiz.
The operation resulted in the arrest of alias Nante, 43, a resident of the area.
Members of the Maayon Municipal Police Station, Capiz Police Provincial Office Intelligence Unit, Capiz Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit, and the 1st Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted the raid following numerous complaints against the suspect.
Authorities implemented two search warrants for violations of Republic Act 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
Police operatives recovered a .38-caliber revolver loaded with three rounds of ammunition, a 5.56 homemade single-shot handgun, a hand grenade, and ammunition for a 12-gauge shotgun.
The Maayon police said they received several complaints about Nante’s alleged indiscriminate firing while intoxicated.
The suspect was also accused of threatening multiple individuals in the area.
During a surveillance operation, police reportedly saw Nante displaying his firearms on top of his dining table.
Nante, who works as an aluminum and glass installer, had no prior arrest record.
He is currently detained and will face charges for violations of RA 10591 and RA 9516.
