ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Sachets of suspected shabu and an unlicensed firearm were recovered from a drug surrenderee during the implementation of a search warrant early Tuesday morning, April 28, in Barangay Sto. Angel, Dumalag, Capiz.
Police Maj. Amie Bulaquina, Dumalag police chief, said authorities served the search warrant around 5 a.m. at the house of alias Toto, 44, a drug surrenderee and resident of the village.
Police recovered an empty sachet of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia from the suspect’s house.
Also recovered from him was a .38-caliber firearm with three live rounds of ammunition.
The operation was conducted by the Dumalag Municipal Police Station with support from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team.
Police records showed that the suspect surrendered under the government’s anti-drug campaign in 2016 but allegedly returned to illegal drug activities a few months after his release.
The search warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Rommel L. Leonor of Branch 21 in Mambusao, Capiz, on April 24, 2026.
The suspect is under the custody of the Dumalag Municipal Police Station, while charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, will be filed against him.
