ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police of Tapaz, Capiz took custody of a handgun and a grenade that were voluntarily surrendered by village chiefs of two barangays on Wednesday.
A .38-caliber revolver was turned over by Punong Barangay Jose Lopez of Brgy. San Vicente Tapaz, Capiz. A resident of the village surrendered the gun to Lopez.
Meanwhile, Punong Barangay Leo Gamayao of Cristina Tapaz, Capiz also surrendered to Tapaz Municipal Police Station a grenade rifle owned by one of their residents.
The grenade and the revolver will be turned over to the Firearms and Explosives Division of Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO).
The surrender of loose firearm and explosives is part of the PNP’s Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang (TKAL) in Capiz.
