GUIMELCO donates P200,000 to Guimaras for COVID-19 mitigation

Guimaras Electric Cooperative (GUIMELCO) donated Php 200,000.00 cash to the Province of Guimaras to help the government in mitigating the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The cash assistance was approved through Board Resolution dated March 26, 2020 to mitigate the impact of the pandemic in the province and to support the continuity of the plans and programs of the province against the further transmission of COVID-19.
GUIMELCO General Manager Shirley S. Laurente said that through this simple effort, the cooperative will be able to do its share to prevent further transmission of COVID-19 in the region especially in Guimaras.
The check was received by the Treasurer’s Office last April 13, 2020.
Guimaras has been placed under the Enhanced Community Quarantine starting today, April 15, 2020.
Meanwhile, GUIMELCO Offices will still be open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. only following directives of the Local Government Unit.
