Guimaras. The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)–Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office reported that 6,056 individuals registered under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in 2025, reflecting the province’s sustained efforts to increase National ID coverage and ensure inclusive identity registration for all Guimarasnons.
The National ID System, implemented through PhilSys, is the Philippine government’s flagship identification program designed to provide Filipinos with a single, government-recognized proof of identity for transactions and access to services.
Municipal-level data showed Jordan recorded the highest number of registrants with 2,742, followed by Buenavista with 1,395, Nueva Valencia with 761, San Lorenzo with 602, and Sibunag with 556.
“These results reflect the strong participation of residents across the five municipalities in the government’s flagship identification program,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
In terms of ID issuance, PSA Guimaras facilitated the release of 5,384 National IDs in paper form in 2025.
“These paper-form National IDs were printed and issued directly by PSA Guimaras to registered individuals to enable them to immediately enjoy the benefits of being National ID System-registered while awaiting the delivery of their physical PVC National ID cards,” Losare said.
By municipality, Jordan recorded the highest number of issued paper-based National IDs with 2,538, followed by Nueva Valencia with 959, Sibunag with 763, Buenavista with 698, and San Lorenzo with 426.
“This underscores PSA Guimaras’ continuous efforts to ensure that registrants are promptly provided with a valid proof of identity,” Losare said.
The Provincial Statistical Office attributed the steady performance of National ID System operations to mobile registrations, strengthened coordination with local government units, and sustained information and education campaigns aimed at increasing public awareness of the National ID’s importance and benefits.
PSA Guimaras also cited the continued implementation of the Rehistro Bulilit Program in 2025, which registered children ages 0–4, with 1,881 young Guimarasnons included in the National ID System.
The office also recorded the registration of 62 overseas Filipino workers during the year, aiming to ensure both local and overseas residents are covered under the National ID System.
Through these initiatives, PSA Guimaras said it is promoting lifelong identity coverage and facilitating access to essential services.
“PSA Guimaras emphasized that the paper form of National ID is a valid and accepted proof of identity, which may be used in transactions with government agencies and private institutions, similar to the physical National ID card,” Losare said.
The Provincial Statistical Office reiterated its commitment to further expand National ID System coverage in the province by continuing mobile and institutional registration activities, especially in far-flung and underserved areas.
“The public is encouraged to actively participate in National ID registration and coordinate with their respective LGUs or PSA Guimaras for registration schedules and updates,” Losare said.
