The Guimaras Police Provincial Office welcomed its new commander Monday, Nov. 17.
Colonel Leonardo Borromeo was installed as GPPO chief during the Monday flag-raising ceremony at the Police Regional Office 6 headquarters in Camp General Martin Teófilo Delgado in Iloilo City.
Borromeo, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 2000, succeeded her PNPA batchmate Colonel Rhea Santos.
Santos will swap posts with Borromeo as chief of the Regional Logistics and Research and Development Division, a post she held before becoming Guimaras police chief on Jan. 12, 2024.
Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, Western Visayas police chief, presided over the turnover rites.
He led the symbolic handover of the Office Symbol, Property, and Equipment Inventory Book with assistance from National Police Commission Regional Director Benjamin Florentino.
Santos thanked GPPO personnel for their dedication, cooperation, and trust throughout her tenure.
She credited their collective work for the office’s accomplishments and urged them to extend the same support to the new leadership.
Borromeo pledged to uphold PNP core values and to continue improving the morale, capability, and performance of GPPO personnel.
“Just like my days with RLRDD, I will portray an aura of water in Guimaras PPO, shapeless, innocent, nourishing, but forceful enough to do great things if nurtured,” he said.
Ligan commended Santos for her service, resilience, and the milestones achieved under her leadership.
He expressed confidence that Borromeo would introduce fresh perspectives, stronger partnerships, and innovative strategies.
