Beef and pork prices in Guimaras generally increased, while chicken prices slightly declined during the second phase of December 2025, or Dec. 15–17, according to the latest Retail Price Survey conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office for the generation of the Consumer Price Index.
Among livestock commodities, beef with bones recorded an average retail price of PHP 385.00 per kilogram during the second phase of December 2025.
“This price remained unchanged from the first phase of December 2025 but was higher than the PHP 370.00 per kilogram recorded in the second phase of November 2025,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
“Compared with the same period in the previous year, the price was also higher than the PHP 345.00 per kilogram recorded in both phases of December 2024,” Losare added.
Beef pure meat also posted an average retail price of PHP 410.00 per kilogram during the second phase of December 2025.
The price was unchanged from the first phase of December 2025, but higher than PHP 400.00 per kilogram in the second phase of November 2025 and PHP 370.00 per kilogram in both phases of December 2024.
For pork products, fresh pork kasim posted an average retail price of PHP 360.00 per kilogram during the second phase of December 2025.
“This price level remained unchanged compared with the second phase of November 2025 and the prices recorded during both phases of December 2024,” Losare said.
Pork liempo registered an average retail price of PHP 385.00 per kilogram during the second phase of December 2025.
The price was unchanged from the first phase of December 2025, but higher than PHP 360.00 per kilogram in the second phase of November 2025 and in both phases of December 2024.
“In contrast, pork meat with bones posted an average retail price of PHP 330.00 per kilogram, the same level recorded during the first phase of December 2025 and the second phase of November 2025,” Losare said.
“However, this was lower than the PHP 360.00 per kilogram recorded in both phases of December 2024,” she added.
For poultry commodities, dressed chicken recorded an average retail price of PHP 190.00 per kilogram during the second phase of December 2025.
“This price level was lower than the PHP 200.00 per kilogram recorded in the second phase of November 2025 and was the same price recorded in both phases of December 2024,” Losare said.
The price of dressed chicken was unchanged from the first phase of December 2025.
Medium-sized chicken eggs also remained at PHP 9.50 per piece during the second phase of December 2025.
“This price was consistent with the levels recorded in the first phase of December 2025, the second phase of November 2025, and the first phase of December 2024,” Losare said.
“However, it was slightly higher than the PHP 9.00 per piece recorded in the second phase of December 2024,” Losare added.
The Retail Price Survey collects retail prices of goods and services commonly purchased by Filipino households and is one of the data sources used to generate the Consumer Price Index.
The Consumer Price Index tracks changes in the prices of a fixed basket of goods and services typically purchased by households and serves as a key measure of inflation.
The survey is conducted twice a month to provide timely information on prevailing market prices of selected commodities.
