Guimaras’ year on year inflation rate downshifted to 2.1 percent in November 2019 from previous year’s 5.4 rate due to the sluggish movement of the annual price on both food and non-food items except for the unchanged value of Communication with 99.9 index.
The food and non-food commodity items which contributed to the slow-movement of the November 2019 inflation rate were:
- Food and Non- Alcoholic Beverages, 1.1%;
- Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, 21.8%;
- Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Other Fuels, 2.6%;
- Furnishings, Household Equipment & Routine Maintenance of the House, 1.2%;
- Health, 1.9%;
- Education, 1.3%
However, based on the monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) results, the November 2019 inflation rate dropped to 0.2 percent due to decrements on Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (-0.7%); Transport (-0.9%) and the unchanged indices of Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas & Other Fuels (120.6); Furnishings, Household Equipment & Routine Maintenance of the House (134.5); Communication (99.9); Education (118.1) and Restaurant and Miscellaneous Goods and Services (112.9).

Meanwhile, faster price movements were noticed in the items of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco with a rate of change of 1.7 percent, Clothing & Footwear (0.3), Health (0.1), and Recreation and Culture (0.5)
