Festivalgoers and residents of Guimaras accessed various National ID services during the Guimaras Manggahan Government Service Fair 2026 from May 18 to 21 at the Capitol Complex in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
The activity formed part of the Philippine Statistics Authority’s continuing efforts to bring public services faster and closer to the people through accessible and community-based National ID operations.
“During the four-day activity, the Philippine Statistics Authority Provincial Statistical Office of Guimaras (PSA-Guimaras) conducted a National ID exhibit booth featuring audio-visual presentations (AVPs), testimonials, and advocacy materials promoting National ID integration initiatives while simultaneously delivering National ID registration, demographic information updating and correction, issuance, and other frontline National ID services to the public,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
“The presentations, shown through the secondary monitor of the Registration Kit Operator (RKO), aimed to strengthen public awareness and encourage wider utilization of National ID services among visitors and stakeholders attending the event,” Losare added.
On May 18, PSA-Guimaras recorded 12 successful National ID registrations and 65 National ID issuances.
Another 12 registrations and 63 issuances were recorded on May 19.
The office recorded 20 registrations and 50 issuances on May 20, followed by nine registrations and 63 issuances on May 21.
“In total, PSA-Guimaras recorded 53 successful National ID registrations and 231 National ID issuances of national ID in paper form during the four-day activity,” Losare said.
The National ID is available in three formats: the physical National ID card, the National ID in paper format, and the Digital National ID, which may be accessed through the eGovPH app.
The National ID in paper format may be claimed for free at National ID registration centers and contains a QR code that may be used for authentication, similar to the physical National ID card.
PSA-Guimaras also assisted during the National ID Integration Meeting held in coordination with the Regional Statistical Services Office 6 and Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Medical Center to support efforts to strengthen National ID integration initiatives in the province.
PSA-Guimaras also served as a lecturer during the meeting.
During the discussion, participants were oriented on the National ID System integration and the National ID Authentication Services, or NIDAS, which provide secure and reliable identity verification for digital transactions and government services.
The PSA has said National ID authentication services support more targeted public service delivery by helping agencies verify identities for transactions and services.
The presentation also highlighted the National ID as a digital platform that creates a unique digital identity for Filipinos and resident aliens.
The meeting discussed the different formats of the National ID, including the physical National ID card, the paper-based National ID, and the Digital National ID accessible through the eGovPH app.
Participants were also briefed on online authentication processes, onboarding procedures for relying parties, and the integration of National ID authentication systems into government services and digital platforms.
The presentation emphasized the importance of interoperability and interconnectivity among government systems through National ID integration.
It said integration could promote seamless service delivery, improve efficiency and transparency, reduce fraudulent transactions, and enhance access to public services.
During the four-day activity, PSA-Guimaras strengthened public awareness of the National ID and expanded access to registration and issuance services by bringing frontline government services directly to festivalgoers and residents attending the Manggahan Festival.
“This initiative also aligned with the PSA’s ongoing campaign to make public services more accessible, convenient, and closer to communities,” Losare said.
One client who availed herself of National ID services during the activity expressed appreciation for the accessibility of the services during the festival, saying the mobile operations made the process more convenient for residents.
“Daku gid ang nabulig nga may National ID services sa Manggahan kay mas hapos kag mas malapit ang serbisyo para sa amon,” said the mother of 10-year-old Marek Aurelius Gedaca Ster of San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras, who availed herself of the National ID demographic information updating services during the activity.
“The continued participation of PSA-Guimaras in inter-agency activities and government service fairs helps strengthen public awareness, improve accessibility to National ID services, and reinforce collaboration with partner agencies in promoting National ID integration initiatives,” Losare said.
The participation of PSA-Guimaras in the Guimaras Manggahan Government Service Fair 2026 formed part of the office’s continuing commitment to bringing public services faster and closer to the people while promoting wider use and integration of the National ID system throughout the province.
