Guimaras exceeded its National ID registration target in the first quarter of 2026, recording 2,385 registrants from January to March, or 16.91% above its target of 2,040, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority-Guimaras.
Of the total, 2,020 registrants were ages 5 and older, including 80 overseas Filipino workers, or OFWs, while 365 were children ages 0 to 4.
“These figures highlight the province’s broad coverage of the National ID system across different age groups and sectors,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
Losare said monthly registrations totaled 767 in January, 720 in February, and 898 in March, showing a stronger turnout toward the end of the quarter.
“Further, OFW registrations were recorded at 37 in January 26 in February, and 17 in March,” Losare said.
“For registrants aged five years old and above, monthly figures reached 660 in January, 609 in February, and 751 in March, while children aged 0 to 4 years old recorded 107 in January, 111 in February, and 147 in March,” she added.
PSA Guimaras also released 5,440 National IDs in paper form during the quarter, with 1,586 issued in January, 1,576 in February, and 2,275 in March, indicating faster distribution in March.
The National ID in paper format is officially recognized and may be claimed free of charge from National ID registration centers, according to the Philippine Identification System.
Like the National ID card, the paper format has a QR code that may be used for authentication.
“This allows registered individuals to immediately use their National ID while waiting for the delivery of the physical card,” Losare said.
PSA Guimaras also assisted eight clients in accessing their Digital National ID through the eGovPH application during the quarter, promoting more convenient and secure digital identity verification.
The Digital National ID may be accessed through the eGovPH mobile app, while the National ID system is implemented under Republic Act No. 11055, or the Philippine Identification System Act.
Losare said PSA Guimaras will continue its registration activities in the second quarter of 2026 through scheduled mobile registrations across municipalities and barangays, including partnerships in local events and targeted outreach for priority sectors such as children, senior citizens, and beneficiaries of government programs.
“The office encourages unregistered individuals to coordinate with their respective barangays or visit the Fixed Registration Center (FRC) at G/F Galanto Bldg., San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras, which is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday, to avail of the National ID services,” Losare said.
“The sustained performance of the province highlights the effectiveness of ongoing registration strategies and the strong participation of Guimarasnons in the implementation of the National ID system,” she added.
