Guimaras athletes who brought pride to the province during the 2025 Palarong Pambansa and Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet received cash incentives during the “Pasalamat” program for outgoing provincial officials on June 30 at the Kapitolyo Probinsyal sang Guimaras in San Miguel, Jordan.
Gov. Ma. Lucille L. Nava, Rep. JC Rahman A. Nava, Vice Gov. Cecile Gumarin and Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Marilyn Edang personally handed out the cash gifts to the medalists.
A total of 16 WVRAA medalists received their incentives.
Gold medalists in individual events earned PHP 10,000, while those in team events received PHP 7,500.
Silver medalists took home PHP 6,000 for individual events and PHP 4,000 for team categories.
Bronze medalists received PHP 3,000 for individual performance and PHP 2,000 for team participation.
Palaro medalists received higher incentives: PHP 25,000 for gold, PHP 20,000 for silver and PHP 15,000 for bronze.
The 10th Sangguniang Panlalawigan also passed a resolution congratulating the athletes for their achievements.
Committee chairpersons of the Manggahan Festival 2025 were awarded certificates of appreciation for their efforts in organizing the annual celebration.
The Pasalamat program is held yearly to honor those who contribute to the success of the Manggahan Festival.
This year’s event also recognized individuals involved in the realization of the Kapitolyo Probinsyal sang Guimaras, the province’s new governance center.
“Most of you nangin parte sang sini nga success kag ginapasalamatan gid namon nga ari di subong ang mga instrumental people nga in one way or another nag-contribute sang success sang aton Kapitolyo, sang aton Manggahan Festival, and at the same time sa aton paghatag pagpupugay sa aton mga dear athletes who gave pride sa aton probinsya,” Gov. Nava said.
