Serving as judges were Franque A. Gilo, accountant I; Angel Babes G. Pauchano, project development officer II; and Pearl Rose P. Parcon, division head of CBMS-DASMO, who served as chief judge.
All participating students from the three GSU campuses, along with their coaches, received certificates of participation.
The top three performers received cash prizes of PHP 5,000, PHP 3,000 and PHP 2,000 for first, second and third places, respectively, along with certificates of recognition.
The competition was held in observance of the 37th National Statistics Month, with the theme, “Tuklas Pilipinas: Statistics as Beacon Towards Inclusive, Resilient, and Sustainable Tourism.”
The annual observance highlights the importance of statistics in understanding development and supporting informed decision-making.
PSA Guimaras Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare underscored the importance of encouraging students to develop an appreciation for statistics and strengthen their ability to use data in understanding issues and making informed decisions.
The PSQ provides a venue for students to demonstrate their statistical knowledge and analytical skills while promoting statistical literacy and appreciation among the youth.
“The PSA Guimaras congratulates all participating students, coaches, and the different campuses of Guimaras State University for their active participation and wishes Games, Academia, and Galve the best as they represent Guimaras in the Regional Statistics Quiz,” Losare said.
