Group to file raps vs CIDG, drug suspect

BACOLOD City – Task Force Kasanag (TFK) founder and national commander John Chiong said he will file a complaint against several operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) who arrested a suspect in a buy-bust operation with a fake TFK ID.

Chiong said he will also file a criminal case against the suspect for misrepresentation and falsification of documents.

Earlier, Chiong clarified that Jovel Enegreo Sumugat who was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the CIDG in La Castellana, Negros Occidental is not a member nor connected with TFK.

He said that when Sumugat was arrested on Oct 27, 2020, a firearm, several ammunitions and identification cards were confiscated from his possession, including a TFK ID which Chiong claimed was a fake.

The suspect is now detained at the custodial facility of CIDG. He is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Chiong decried that the CIDG operatives did not state in their report that the ID was expired since 2018.

He also lamented that this put the TFK in a bad light.

Chiong further claimed that his signature in the said ID was “scanned.”

He said he has already informed the public and has come out with an announcement in the past that he personally signs valid TFK IDs.

TFK is a civil society group that battles graft and corruption, criminality, injustice, illegal drugs and other illegal activities.
