Ginebra fans got what they want. Greg Slaughter is finally back.
Fans had nearly lost hope in Slaughter as no progress of the new deal was released after he met with top Ginebra executives. But then Coach Tim Cone himself released a statement that the 7-foot center will be playing next season.
In a Twitter exchange, it was seen that coach Cone replied to one of Ginebra’s fans asking if Greg will still be playing for Ginebra and he answered “Greg is signed”.
However, the Ginebra management is yet to release a final statement whether Slaughter will be suiting up for the next PBA season.
Also, the terms and final clauses regarding Slaughter’s contract were not mentioned and the playing years not listed.
With Slaughter back in the lineup, Ginebra will have a stronger frontcourt especially now that six-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo is back with the San Miguel Beermen.
The Ginebra anchor previously clinched four PBA championships under the franchise as a starting center.
