A high school student is in hot water after a pouch containing suspected illegal drugs accidentally fell from his pocket.
The 17-year-old boy is a Grade 11 student at the Iloilo City National High School (ICNHS) in Barangay Taal, Molo, IloIlo City.
Major Marlyn Roquero, Iloilo City Police Station 4 chief, said the teenage boy dropped a black pouch which was picked up by his classmate around 10:50 a.m. on December 13 inside the school.
The latter turned it over to their class adviser.
When the teacher checked the contents of the pouch, she saw a transparent plastic sachet containing suspected dried marijuana leaves.
The teacher informed the principal about the find.
Police personnel was subsequently called to respond.
Roquero admitted that the marijuana belonged to him.
He allegedly followed a Facebook page where he placed his order through the page’s Messenger account.
A drop-off point was designated where he could pick up the order.
The suspect said he paid for his order through G-Cash at a 7-Eleven convenience store.
Roquero said personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was already called in to assess the matter.
