‘Government forces are fighting hard and smart’

BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson lauded the strategic steps of the police and military in the fight against insurgency and criminality during the Closing Ceremony of the Workshop on the Coordinated Combat Operation Implementation of Joint Enhanced Military and Police Operation held at Stonehill Suites Bacolod City recently.

The participants were police and military officers from Regions 6, 7, and 8.

“Today’s activity is proof that our forces intend not only to fight hard, but to fight smart. We are in a rare and historic time and we have to make use of everything at our disposal – knowledge, strategy and resources, and I am confident that we can make this work,” the governor said.

“This is a strategic step in our fight against insurgency, terrorism, narco-terrorism and criminality,” he added.

He also thanked the PNP and AFP for their selfless and courageous service, bravery and commitment.

Negros Occ. Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer said the workshop is headed in the right direction.

“This training will certainly boil down to the enhancement of the quality and capability of the military and police officers in combining their combative undertakings to attain a mutual mission to safeguard the lives and welfare of our fellow Negrenses,” Ferrer said.

Also present in the activity were Police Brigadier General Nickson Muksan, Deputy Director of DIPO (Director of Directorates for Integrated Police Operations)–Visayas; Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade; and Negros Occ. Police Provincial Director Colonel Romy Palgue.
