Government employee busted with P12,000 worth of ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Police arrested a man hired by the city government of Cadiz in Negros Occidental as a casual employee after he was caught allegedly selling illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tinampa-an last Saturday.

The subject was identified as Charlie Bacroya, 43, of the said village, who is the top 2 priority target of Cadiz City Police Station.

“Dugay na ni siya namon gina monitor kay ara siya sa priority list,” Police Lieutenant Colonel Gil John Despi, city police chief, said.

Despi said that it was Bacroya’s first arrest. He was assigned at the City Veterinary Office, the police chief added.

Police recovered from him 1.8 grams of suspected shabu worth P12,240, and the P500 marked money.

Bacroya, who has yet to be reached for comment, is considered a high-value individual, according to the police.

Under his leadership, Despi said that four government employees were already arrested for drug offenses.

Despite this, Despi said the city government is conducting random drug testing on its employees to cleanse their ranks.
