ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Reelected Gov. Fredenil “Oto” Castro led other winning One Capiz provincial officials in their oath-taking ceremony held Friday morning, June 20, at the provincial capitol.
Castro took his oath before his daughter, reelected Dumalag Mayor Ma. Concepcion “Khuku” Castro, at the governor’s office.
Afterward, the governor administered the oath to other reelected officials, including Vice Gov. James “Mitang” Magbanua and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan—four from the 1st District and five from the 2nd District of Capiz.
Only Board Member Thea Faith Reyes, who is allied with One Capiz, failed to make it to the “Magic 5,” which was instead secured by reelected Board Member Jose “Pepe” Del Rosario of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
The simple oath-taking ceremony was witnessed by the families of the elected provincial officials.
In his message, Castro thanked the people of Capiz for giving him a second term to serve them.
“Amu ini ang pagkasuluguon nga sagrado kay ginsumpaan ini sa Mahal nga Diyos kag sa mga pumuluyo,” he said.
He emphasized that “public officials should not consider themselves above the people but must view them as their bosses who deserve utmost respect.”
The governor said his administration will continue the projects he started in his previous term.
