Go to supporters: No illegal business

BACOLOD City – Senator-elect Christopher “Bong” Go vowed on June 16, 2019, that he will not tolerate the “illegal businesses” of his election supporters.

“Even if you helped me during the election, I will not help you if your business is illegal,” Go told reporters in an ambush interview after he visited victims of a fire that razed more than 200 houses at Purok Cagaycay in Barangay 2 recently.

The 247 families displaced by the fire are presently staying at the covered court of the Andres Bonifacio Elementary School.

Go visited the victims and handed out cash assistance as well as food items.

Joining Go was Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Bacolod lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya, Negros Occidental 3rd District Rep. Albee Benitez, Negros Occidental Vice Governor-elect Jeffrey Ferrer, Councilor Em Ang, businessman Jerry Sy, and actor Philip Salvador.

“Kahit kaibigan kita at tinulungan mo ako nung election at mag-negosyo ka ng illegal, hindi kita tutungan. Hindi ko babaluktutin ang batas. Tutulong naman po ako as long as legal po yung business,” Go said.

After visiting the fire victims, Go joined a “boodle fight” with local tricycle drivers. In Filipino culture, boodle fight is the military practice of eating a meal together with bare hands.
