Fresh off their newly-signed partnership, GMA-7 network and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) are already working hand-in-hand heading into the next season.
The agreement inked involved a five-and-a-half-year deal which GMA will maximize and added that they will provide NCAA with unmatched reach and scale as soon as broadcasting starts.
“This partnership commits to ensure that the NCAA becomes the country’s premier interscholastic sports league in the country with the promise of national, local, and worldwide audiences through GMA’s formidable multimedia platforms in order to provide the NCAA with unmatched reach and scale,” NCAA said in a statement.
Included in the long-term plan is making the games available to viewers abroad via GMA Pinoy TV while all the games including the championship will be aired on their main channel.
“We are excited that GMA Network is the new home of the NCAA. At the same time, we are grateful to the NCAA board for putting their trust in GMA to serve as a platform in showcasing the talented Filipino student athletes,” added GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon.
With no definite timetable for NCAA’s next season and with no concrete plans whether to push through with the NCAA bubble or not, GMA will remain ready to help NCAA in terms of broadcast reach as soon as the games start.
