Global FC wage issues in PFL reaches FIFA

Global FC’s unsettled wage issues with their players under the Philippines Football League (PFL) have reached the highest governing body in all of football, FIFA.

Ryo Fujii, a Hong Kong-born Japanese professional soccer player who was at the time playing for Global FC, relayed his case to FIFA.

Upon hearing the complaint of one of its players, FIFA’s dispute resolution chamber ordered Global FC to pay its debt within 45 days.

FIFA agreed on December 15 as the starting date of the 45-day deadline and if the club is not able to comply, a ban will be slapped on Global as well as disallowing the team from registering new players and staff.

The Japanese player disclosed that Global is yet to pay him a total of GBP 26,500 with interest or 1,722,765 million pesos.

Additionally, Fujii also shared that aside from their unpaid salaries, Global also failed to give its players their housing and training kits as promised in the contract.

“Just everything the management told us didn’t go as planned. The players that were in different countries were promised a flight ticket but it never came,” said Fujii.

Previously, former Global players’ Anton del Rosario and Milan Nikolic also experienced the same treatment and shared that they were not given any salary for eight months.
