ROXAS CITY, Capiz – It’s a sad Christmas for a family in Mambusao, Capiz after their 9-year-old daughter was killed in a road mishap at Brgy. Atiplo, Mambusao Tuesday afternoon.
Police identified the driver of the multicab as Marve Denosta Dumolong, 26 and resident of Barangay Piña, Maayon Capiz.
Investigation conducted by PSSg Johnny Delos Santos of Mambusao Municipal Police Station indicated that Dumolong was bringing home his girlfriend to Jamindan town when he accidentally ran over a girl who suddenly crossed the road after alighting from another vehicle.
The victim, a resident of Brgy. Oyong Sigma town, did not notice Dumolong’s multi cab vehicle as she was rushing to meet her grandmother who was at the other side of the road.
The victim suffered fatal head injuries and was declared dead at the Mambusao District Hospital.
Meanwhile, the parents of the victim went to the police station and informed the police that they will not file charges against the driver.
The parents also proceeded to the hall of justice and executed an affidavit of non-interest to file a case against the driver.
