A two-year old girl drowned to her death in a beach resort in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras afternoon of Dec 5.
Shane Salongcong, a resident of Sitio Ugatan, Barangay Poblacion, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras, was already unconscious when found 2 pm Saturday.
Her cousin, Jasmin, saw her floating after she disappeared while taking dip in a beach in Sitio Alubihod, Barangay Poblacion.
She was initially given first aid and later taken to Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital in Jordan town where she was declared dead.
Police investigation showed that the girl’s family attended an anniversary party at the resort.
The mother thought that another family member was a looking after Shane as she allegedly went back to the cottage to put her 7-month-old child to sleep.
But she was later informed that Shane was already unconscious while being scooped out of the water.
