Kemark Carino joined the de Liaño brothers and Thirdy Ravena as the latest Filipino to sign in the Japan B. League.
The young center from San Beda, acquired through the Asian Player’s Quota rule, will be playing for the Aomori Wat’s basketball team in the league’s second division.
The 23-year-old big man turned heads during his national team debut last Manama bubble in Bahrain where they swept their games in the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers.
Carino was the main backup big for Isaac Go in the absence of Ange Kouame and did a decent job anchoring Gilas’ paint against the height of the Thailand national team.
The six-foot-nine center was also a part of the roster of the PH national team during the 2016 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship that was held in Tehran, Iran.
Currently, Carino is still under the Gilas program and is included in the 19-man pool that will train for the upcoming FIBA Asia Cup main draw.
Carino will also fly with Gilas Pilipinas to Jordan as they are set to join the 10th King Abdullah Cup pocket tournament.
