After contacting Naoya “Monster” Inoue’s handlers in Japan, Manny Pacquaio (MP) Promotions president Sean Gibbons assured Johnriel Casimero that the monster hunt is on this July.
Earlier, Bob Arum threw comments that it would be impossible to fly in Inoue due to Japan’s increasing COVID-19 cases.
A day after, Arum then said that the clash between Casimero and Inoue is already off and the Monster will be replaced by Casimero’s number one challenger, Joshua Greer.
Inoue is under Top Rank Promotions, so Arum is the one promoting him but Gibbons is the one handling Casimero and is not convinced with Arum’s replacement plan.
Sean Gibbons shunned Arum’s comments and plans and emphasized that he already called the attention of Inoue’s camp and promised him of a fight this July.
“I’ve assured him (Casimero) that the Monster is coming. We’re preparing for July, We’ll be waiting for July. We’re waiting for the Monster,” said Gibbons.
Casimero has been in the US since March 15 training relentlessly in anticipation of his bout with Inoue.
“I don’t know who Josh Greer is, but we know the Monster!” Gibbons added.
