GCash, the Philippines’ leading finance super app, has announced a 30-day payment extension for borrowers affected by Typhoon Uwan through its lending arm, Fuse Financing Inc.
The grace period applies to GLoan and GGives borrowers with due dates between Nov. 9 and 13, 2025, and covers residents in areas severely impacted by the typhoon, including Aurora, Albay, Butuan (Agusan del Norte), Camarines Norte, Eastern Samar, Camarines Sur, Guimaras, Catanduanes, Ifugao, Masbate, Kalinga, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Nueva Vizcaya, Tagkawayan (Quezon), Quirino, and Sorsogon.
Eligible accounts will automatically receive a one-month extension, meaning a loan originally due on Nov. 9 is now payable on Dec. 9.
Qualified borrowers do not need to take any action to avail of the extension.
The Automatic Debit Arrangement (ADA) feature will be temporarily disabled during the grace period to allow customers to prioritize urgent needs and post-disaster recovery.
“No additional interest, late fees, or penalties will be charged during the extension period,” GCash said in its advisory.
Borrowers covered by the initiative will receive SMS notifications confirming their eligibility.
GCash noted that the list of covered areas may expand if the government declares additional regions under a state of calamity.
Customers with concerns may file a ticket through the GCash Help Center or contact Gigi, the app’s virtual assistant.
GCash said the initiative aligns with its commitment to financial inclusion and disaster response and supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) 5, 8, 10, and 13.
Fuse Financing Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mynt—the country’s first and only USD 5 billion unicorn—handles GCash’s digital lending services and is regulated by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
GCash enables more than 6 million merchants and social sellers nationwide through services including bill payments, fund transfers, savings, insurance, and lending, all accessible via mobile.
