Global Business Power Corporation (GBP), through subsidiaries Panay Energy Development Corporation (PEDC) and Panay Power Corporation (PPC), provided relief assistance to the fire victims of Brgy. Ortiz in Iloilo City proper.
Early morning of May 15, Brgy. Ortiz was struck by fire, affecting 88 houses and displacing 113 families.
In partnership with ABS–CBN Iloilo, GBP and its cooperative Global Panay Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GPMPC) donated relief goods and gallons of water to serve the residents’ essential and most immediate needs. Present during the turnover were GBP representatives Environment Manager Engr. Rex Debuque, External Affairs Officer Myra Montelijao, Community Relations Associate Jenima Fernandez, GPMPC Manager Nilo Sangcada, and ABS-CBN Iloilo representatives Regie Adosto and Selwin Davila.
GBP is an independent power producer that owns and operates a total of 314 MW coal-fired power plants through subsidiary PEDC and 92 MW diesel-fired power plants through subsidiary PPC in La Paz District.
