BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Greg Gasataya has ordered all city government employees to return to their original plantilla positions or mother units starting July 1, regardless of rank, position, or designation.
The directive was issued in an executive order signed by Gasataya as he formally resumed office at noon on June 30.
The order stressed the need to account for all personnel based on their plantilla assignments and designated offices.
“All existing detail, reassignment, or transfer orders are hereby recalled, canceled, or revoked effective immediately,” Gasataya stated.
He said the move aims to promote good governance, institutional discipline, and efficient public service delivery.
Gasataya emphasized that failure to comply and report to one’s original post may result in administrative sanctions.
The order also instructs department heads to submit written requests with proper justification for any reassignment, detailing the necessity for such transfers.
Employees are required to properly turn over any pending tasks, official duties, projects, and accountable property or equipment to their immediate supervisors before reassignment.
On the same day, Gasataya underwent a random drug test at the Bacolod City Government Center, which yielded a negative result.
“This is voluntary, for selected officials,” he told reporters, adding that four executive assistants also took part in the drug testing.
He said the initiative supports the national government’s anti-drug campaign and serves as a model of transparency.
Gasataya also signed a separate executive order establishing the Bacolod Senior Citizen Center.
The center will serve as a hub for delivering essential services to senior citizens, including health programs, recreational activities, skills development, counseling, and social welfare assistance.
The order affirms the city government’s recognition of the vital role of senior citizens in society and its commitment to improving their quality of life through accessible support programs.
