BACOLOD CITY – A gas station attendant died after a motorcycle collision at Purok Cabugwason, Barangay Cabug, on Tuesday night.
Police Major Ramel Sarona, head of the Traffic Management Unit (TMU), identified the victim as Arniel Alingasa, 33, of Escalante City, Negros Occidental.
Sarona reported that Alingasa attempted to overtake another motorcycle, resulting in a head-on collision with a motorcycle driven by a 37-year-old resident of Barangay Cabug. The motorcycle also had a 30-year-old female passenger.
Alingasa was declared dead at the hospital. Sarona noted that none of the three individuals involved were wearing helmets.
The two other victims sustained minor injuries and are currently confined at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH).
Sarona said the accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. as all three victims were on their way home.
He added that Alingasa’s family and the other party have reached an initial settlement.
