BACOLOD City – A game farm caretaker was gunned down in front of his live-in partner at Zone 5, Barangay Concepcion, Talisay City, Negros Occidental yesterday.
Police identified the victim as Felix Baylocon, 29, of Barangay Cabatangan, and temporarily residing in the said game farm.
Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, said the victim was having coffee with his live-in partner around 7 a.m. when an unidentified person arrived and shot him.
Benoman said the victim’s common-law wife witnessed the incident but was unharmed.
The victim initially suffered two gunshot wounds in the left shoulder and neck from a suspected revolver, according to Benoman.
Benoman said they have yet to establish the motive nor determine if the suspect has an accomplice or a getaway vehicle.
Meanwhile, an 81-year-old man died after he was also shot by an unidentified person at Sitio Calagmakan, Barangay Camindangan, Sipalay City last Thursday.
Police Major Fernando Somblingo Jr., city police chief, said the victim was fetching water from a well when he was shot from behind by the gunman.
The victim suffered a lone gunshot wound in the back and was declared dead in a hospital.
Somblingo said they received information that the incident could be an alleged retaliation against the victim for his previous case. But, he said that such information is subject to investigation.
