The Philippine Football Federation is recommending Iloilo as a possible host for the group stage matches of the first-ever FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup to be held in the Philippines in Nov 2025. PFF President John Gutierrez, together with former PFF President and FIFA Council Member Nonong Araneta, today visited Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. and inspected the Iloilo Sports Complex and Central Philippine University (CPU) ahead of upcoming visit by FIFA Futsal World Cup delegation next week.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. — a former member of the University of The Philippines- Visayas High School football team — expressed the full support from the Iloilo Provincial Government, assuring that they will render their assistance to prepare for the inauguration of the Futsal World Cup. CPU President Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy likewise gave his support should games be played in their school.
