ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Several activities have been lined up for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Roxas City Jail to feel the spirit of Christmas which was not held last year because of the pandemic.
According to Jail Senior Inspector Dever Fantilaga, BJMP-Roxas City Jail warden, he assured that the PDLs will feel the spirit of Christmas even if they are inside the jail and away from their families.
Fantilaga said several individuals and sectors offered to conduct gift-giving activities for the PDLs.
He added that he will try his best to hold an isolated Christmas Party for PDLs using the proceeds of the Christmas decorations and lanterns they made and sold.
Fantilaga said that he is waiting for the response of the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) allowing the BJMP for the face-to-face visitation of the PDLs.
He said they are confident in holding such activities because 99% of the PDLs are fully vaccinated.
